AMRAPs are not EMOMs… and neither of them are workouts “for time.”
And that’s on purpose.
At CrossFit Moncton, we don’t just program workouts - we program experiences. Each style of workout is designed to challenge you in a different way, both physically and mentally.
Here’s why that matters:
AMRAP (As Many Rounds/Reps As Possible)
This is about pacing and self-awareness.
You’re managing your effort over time, deciding when to push and when to breathe.
Go out too hot? You’ll feel it.
Find your rhythm? You’ll surprise yourself with what you can sustain.
EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute)
This is about consistency and discipline.
You earn your rest.
Move efficiently, stay focused, and hit the same standard minute after minute.
It’s less about “how fast” and more about “how repeatable.”
For Time
This is your chance to compete - against the clock, and sometimes yourself.
It demands urgency, grit, and the ability to keep moving when things get uncomfortable.
It teaches you how to push.
If we only did one style, you’d only develop one gear.
But life doesn’t work like that.
Some days require patience.
Some require precision.
And some require you to step on the gas and go.
Our programming reflects that.
Because the goal isn’t just to get you fitter…
It’s to make you more capable in the gym and outside of it.
